Playing the West Branch Country Club is like reading a great novel.  The first several holes introduce you to the characters:  immaculately maintained fairways, velvety smooth and exceptionally fast greens, and the approach shots, seeming moderate in stature, but turning devilishly difficult upon closer examination.  On the back nine the plot thickens... and so do the trees.  Tight landing areas make even the best shot makers nervous. Club selection and strategy off the tee become as important as the ensuing approach shot.  As the finishing holes unveil, the stage is set.  However, the verdict is still out.  Who will win, the golfer or the course??  In the end, who wins is irrelevent.  An experience this good is worth coming back to!
